Head Trick Theatre seeks actors of all races/ethnicities, ages, and gender identities for its 2024 season of revolution and intrigue, “Taken for Granted“!
The season opens in June with the world premiere of a new translation of THE MAD BID by Madame Ulrich (as a reading), continues in July with a fully staged production of ROSSUM’S UNIVERSAL ROBOTS by Karel Čapek, and closes in November with THE LUCKY CHANCE by Aphra Behn. See the link above for longer show descriptions.
Auditions will be held in person at the AS220 Black Box at 95 Empire St., Providence, RI, on Sunday, April 14 (1:30-4:30) and Monday, April 15 (6:30-9:30). Please fill out the audition signup form and we will give you a timeslot.
If you are unable to make these times, contact us at [email protected] or via the form and we will see if it is possible to accommodate you.
Please prepare one or two memorized monologues, depending on which shows you wish to audition for: a dramatic contemporary monologue for R.U.R., and/or a classical comic monologue for The Lucky Chance or The Mad Bid. Here’s a character breakdown for all plays.
All actors must be vaccinated and boosted (bivalent). Participation is on a volunteer basis; an honorarium may be paid depending on available funding. Actors hoping for speaking roles in R.U.R. or The Lucky Chance must be available for all performance dates. Walk-on roles in these two plays and roles in The Mad Bid may be double-cast.
Please note that R.U.R. contains depictions of violence, and The Lucky Chance contains sexual situations and references to non-consensual sex.
